Motorists travelling to Logan and Brisbane from the Gold Coast faced heavy traffic congestion early this morning after a five vehicle-crash on the M1 at Gaven just after six o’clock.
Three people were injured in the crash that involved two trucks and three cars and they were taken by ambulance to the Gold Coast University Hospital.
A man in his 30’s was suffering back and abdominal pain and another man in his 20’s had neck pain.
A woman in her 20’s was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
A fourth person was assessed by paramedics but didn’t require transport to hospital.
The Operations Supervisor for the Queensland Ambulance Service on the Gold Coast, Joel McEwan says traffic controllers and police did their best to keep the traffic flowing.
