Police are preparing a report for the coroner following the discovery of a man’s body in a submerged car, in a flooded Scenic Rim creek.
The vehicle was spotted yesterday afternoon in Canungra Creek, two days after 38 year old Mark Hornman was reported missing.
Senior Sergeant Mitchell Gray has said it’s a sad outcome for his family:
” I don’t think it’s any secret that we were going through a significant weather event and a lot of the roads, perhaps, wouldn’t have usually flooded have flooded during that time. So, certainly that is our focus with regards to investigation but we will look at it more broadly in all aspects of it to try and give some peace to the family about actually what’s happened in those moments before he passed away”.
