Armed robbery at Beenleigh service station; police appeal for info
Police are appealing for information after an armed robbery at a Beenleigh service station in the early hours of Wednesday 14 October.
Officers were called to the service station on Logan River Road around 1.20am after a report that a man had been robbed.
Investigators believe three people arrived at the service station just before 1am in a stolen black 2025 Chery Tiggo. The vehicle had been reported stolen during a burglary on Sovereign Street at Flagstone on 12 October.
Two of the males got out of the vehicle while one stayed in the driver's seat. The pair went into the store, one armed with what appeared to be a firearm and the other with a sword, and confronted an 18-year-old male employee, who fled through the rear of the business.
The pair then took the till containing money, along with personal items belonging to the employee, before the trio fled in the Tiggo. The 18-year-old was not physically injured. A crime scene was declared at the service station.
Around 1.30am, police were called to the corner of Curtisii Court and Third Avenue at Kingston over a vehicle fire. Investigations are continuing to confirm whether it is the Tiggo.
Detectives are asking anyone with information or vision from around those areas this morning to come forward.
