Far North police seek help to find stolen Vitara, Mustang and Camry

Police are asking the public to help locate a number of vehicles stolen across the Far North in the past 28 days, including a Suzuki Vitara, a Ford Mustang and a Toyota Camry.

Three vehicles are the focus of the latest Vehicle Watch. A beige 2021 Suzuki Vitara was stolen from Kewarra Beach (reference QP2602148578). A red 2016 Ford Mustang coupe, Queensland registration 197IO9, was taken from Cowley (reference QP2602143556). The Vehicle Watch also lists other stolen vehicles, including a grey 2014 Toyota Landcruiser utility taken from Djarawong, a red Suzuki Ozark quad bike from Tolga, and a white 2006 Holden Rodeo utility from Trinity Beach. Others were reported stolen from Injinoo, Mourilyan, Mooroobool, Bentley Park, Innisfail and Cairns North.

Police said four vehicles have been stolen this month in the Far North and 737 so far this year, compared with 808 in 2025. An Active Stolen Vehicle public portal is now available.

To help prevent vehicle theft, police advise people to:

• remove all valuables from their vehicle
• make sure the vehicle is locked
• not leave spare keys in the car
