Murder investigation launched after death at Tamborine Mountain home

The 37-year-old self-employed father of two was discovered at a Tolima Drive residence with fatal injuries to his head and upper body. Inspector Chris Knight of Queensland Police outlined the investigation's scope during a Friday briefing. Forensic services had already spent approaching 24 hours meticulously examining the residence and collecting evidence.

"A heavy police presence will remain in the Tamborine area throughout this weekend," Insp Knight told reporters, signalling that door-to-door inquiries and witness appeals would dominate community activity in the immediate term.

For a community known for its quiet, family-oriented hinterland character, the death has sent shockwaves through neighbourhoods where violent crime is unusual. Many residents woke Friday to learn of the tragedy, while those living near the crime scene watched forensic teams and uniformed officers work through the day.

Police say the community now holds a crucial key to solving the case.
