Nundah police appeal for stolen e-bike taken from Melton Road complex

North Brisbane Police are seeking information about a black Velectrix23 Cruiser Pulse e-bike taken from a Nundah underground carpark in late October.

North Brisbane Police are appealing for information about an electric power assisted cycle (EPAC) reported missing from a residential complex in Melton Road, Nundah.

Police allege the device was taken from the complex's underground carpark between Wednesday 21 October and Thursday 29 October. It was reported missing on 29 October.

The EPAC is a black Velectrix23 Cruiser Pulse with the serial number VXAV2207231. It has a Quad Lock phone mount attached to the handlebars.

Anyone with information that may assist investigators is encouraged to contact Policelink and quote the reference number QP2602132792.

Police said the small size and weight of bicycles and scooters make them targets for offenders, because they are easier to pick up and carry or ride away. Thieves often carry cutting implements to remove locking devices, so police urged people to stay proactive about property security.

Police suggested several steps people can take:

- Residents of multi-residential housing should consider storing a scooter or bicycle inside their unit or apartment rather than in the basement car park.
- Commuters should be aware of thieves using cutting implements to get past locked or secured items.
- Keep your scooter or bicycle in sight at all times, and consider taking it inside with you on arrival where possible.

Information can be given to Policelink using the online suspicious activity form, available 24 hours a day via the Queensland Police Service reporting page. People can also call Policelink on 131 444. Anonymous reports can be made to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or through the Crime Stoppers Queensland website. Quote reference number QP2602132792.

This report is based on information released by Queensland Police Service.
