Police appeal after e-motorbike rider hits 82-year-old cyclist at Miami
Detectives have released vision of a male they want to speak with after an e-motorbike crashed into an 82-year-old cyclist on a Miami footbridge on 8 October.
Police have released vision of a male they want to speak with over the dangerous operation of an electric motorbike at Miami on 8 October, which left an 82-year-old man with a fractured vertebrae.
Police say the man was riding his bicycle along the Paradise Avenue footpath towards Pizzey Park around 8.45am when he dismounted to let a woman pushing a pram pass on a narrow foot-bridge.
A male on an electric motorbike then rode past the group at speed. The cyclist told him to slow down. Police allege the male stopped and verbally abused the man, then accelerated towards him and crashed into him.
The 82-year-old fell to the ground and injured his back. The male fled on his e-motorbike in an easterly direction up Paradise Avenue.
The man suffered a fractured vertebrae and remained at Robina Hospital for more than two weeks.
Detectives are appealing for anyone who recognises the male in the vision, his clothes, his e-motorbike or his helmet to come forward. Investigations continue.
