A 23-year-old male constable from the Queensland Police Service's Southern Region has been charged over alleged misconduct in public office.
Police say the officer has been charged with an offence under section 92A of the Criminal Code, Misconduct in Public Office, which was allegedly committed while he was on duty. He has been stood down from the Queensland Police Service.
The constable is expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on 26 October 2026.
The Queensland Police Service said that, in keeping with its commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, it has undertaken to inform the public when a member of the Service faces serious allegations of misconduct. It stressed that this does not mean the allegations against the officer have been substantiated.
