Three charged over Kuraby knife incident and stolen Haval pursuit
Two women and a man have been charged after a Kuraby knife threat, a Sunnybank Hills robbery attempt and a stolen Haval chase across Brisbane.
Three people have been charged after a series of incidents involving a stolen vehicle in Brisbane on 30 October, Queensland Police Service says.
Around 3.15pm, police responded to reports that a man and a woman had entered a house in Kuraby and threatened a female resident with a knife before attempting to steal a vehicle. Police will allege the same offenders were involved in an attempted armed robbery in Sunnybank Hills earlier that afternoon.
In both cases the offenders allegedly fled in a black Haval H6, which police say was stolen from a car wash on Brisbane Road, Goodna, on 28 October.
Around 5pm the Haval was sighted in the Waterford area, and POLAIR began tracking it. Police will allege it was driven dangerously through suburbs including Forest Lake, Sumner Park, Corinda and Indooroopilly. A Tyre Deflation Device was successfully deployed in Milton around 6.13pm. The vehicle stopped on Gailey Road in St Lucia around 6.20pm, and its three occupants, two women and a man, were taken into custody.
A 26-year-old Morningside woman and a 22-year-old Kingston woman have each been charged with multiple offences. These include enter dwelling with intent, robbery armed/in company/wounded/used personal violence, stealing, and attempted unlawful use of a motor vehicle in company.
A 24-year-old Forest Lake man has been charged with 12 offences. These include enter dwelling with intent, robbery armed/in company/wounded/used personal violence, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and unlawful use of a motor vehicle in the night while armed.
All three are due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on 31 October.
