Police have revoked an emergency declaration over an LPG leak at a Smiths Road shopping complex in Goodna on Monday morning, 19 October.

Police have revoked an emergency declaration made under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) after a gas leak at a Goodna shopping complex on Monday morning, 19 October.

Police and emergency services were called to the complex on Smiths Road around 7.32am following reports of a gas leak at one of the businesses.

Initial information indicated someone had accidentally opened a large LPG tank, and the gas leaked into neighbouring businesses.

Police had set up an exclusion zone covering Smiths Road, Queen Street, Alice Street and William Street. The public was advised to avoid the area, and residents inside the zone were urged to stay indoors with all windows and doors closed.

Police later advised that the declaration had been revoked.
