Two men die in Bruce Highway crash at Bluewater

Two men, aged 27 and 50, died at the scene of a Nissan Navara and Kenworth prime mover crash on the Bruce Highway at Bluewater on Sunday afternoon.

Two men have died following a two-vehicle crash on the Bruce Highway at Bluewater on Sunday afternoon, 1 November, Queensland Police Service says.

Emergency services were called to the highway at 3.24pm after reports of a crash involving a Nissan Navara and a Kenworth prime mover.

The driver of the Nissan, a 27-year-old Bluewater Park man, and the driver of the prime mover, a 50-year-old Lowood man, both died at the scene.

The Bruce Highway reopened shortly after midnight.

Forensic Crash Unit investigations remain ongoing.

Police said the Queensland Police Service is committed to reducing the number of lives lost on the state's roads, but enforcement alone cannot stop all dangerous driving behaviours. Driving under the influence, speeding, driving while distracted or fatigued, or not wearing a seatbelt puts lives at serious risk, and police said these behaviours will not be tolerated.

Police said Queenslanders can expect officers anywhere, anytime, and that road safety starts with each driver.

Anyone referring to the crash should quote the reference number QP2602159140.
