A major flood peak is possible at Harrisville on Warrill Creek on Friday morning, the Bureau of Meteorology says, with minor flooding also possible along the Bremer River.
The Bureau's Flood Warning Number 3 was issued at 4:29 am on Friday 23 October 2026, as a reissue to correct the warning title. It follows heavy rain across the Bremer River and Warrill Creek catchments in the last few days, with river level rises observed in the upper parts of the catchment.
Warrill Creek at Harrisville was at 4.80 m and rising, with moderate flooding, and may peak near the major flood level of 5.00 m on Friday morning. At Amberley the creek was at 3.58 m and rising, below the minor flood level, but may exceed the 4.00 m minor level on Friday morning. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.
No observations were available for Warrill Creek at Kalbar. The level there is estimated to be around the minor flood level and is likely to fall below it (6.00 m) on Friday morning, so minor flooding is easing.
On the Bremer River, Rosewood was at 0.62 m and rising, and may exceed the 4.00 m minor flood level on Friday morning. Five Mile Bridge was at -0.26 m and steady, and may exceed its 3.50 m minor flood level on Friday morning. Further rises are possible at both locations with forecast rain.
The Bureau's safety advice is not to drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater, to stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways, and to obey road closure signs. Residents are urged to check the ABC and local media for updates, as the situation can change quickly. For local emergency management warnings and advice, use the Queensland disaster website.
For emergency assistance call the SES on 132 500. In life-threatening emergencies, call 000 (triple zero) immediately.
The next warning will be issued by 11:00 am on Friday 23 October 2026.
