At 6:40 am, a severe thunderstorm was detected near Caboolture and Lake Samsonvale. The Bureau says it is likely to produce heavy, locally intense rainfall that may lead to dangerous and life-threatening flash flooding. The storm is moving south.
It is forecast to affect Strathpine, Lake Manchester and Upper Brookfield by 7:10 am, and Ipswich, Peak Crossing and Bundamba Lagoon by 7:40 am.

Other advice includes:
- Keep children with you or an adult you trust.
- Park your car undercover away from trees.

- Put pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified if they get lost.
- Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
The next warning is due by 8:05 am. A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for parts of the Southeast Coast district, and other warnings may be current. Warnings are available through the Bureau of Meteorology website, TV and radio broadcasts, or by calling 1300 659 210.
