After raising $10,000 last year, organisers are hoping for similar success in raising funds this year as part of “Pink Stumps Day” to support the McGrath Foundation raise funds to help cancer victims across Australia.
Once again, businesses are being called on to help raise money.
Jimboomba Bushrangers Cricket Club president Rodney Teese says there’s plenty of support already, with Logan City Division 9 councillor Scott Bannan promoting the event on a weekly basis.
“We also plan to install cameras to film all the action at Glenlogan Park” he said.
“One at the bowler’s end, another from the boundary and one will be strategically placed on the head of the umpire”.
There will be a sponsors area with free drinks and food to thank those who contribute to the cause.
Sponsors are being urged to sign up now with additional benefits before Australia Day.
The event is scheduled to be held on Saturday, February 20th.
