SEQ water has won an appeal against a landmark ruling on the 2011 Queensland floods.
Two years ago, the Supreme Court in New South Wales found the Queensland government, as well as Sunwater and Seqwater, acted negligently and had contributed to the disaster by failing to following their own manual during an emergency.
SEQ Water – operator of Wivenhoe Dam – was originally found to be 50 percent liable but appealed the decision.
The New South Wales Court of Appeal has now ruled in favour of SEQ Water and the matter’s been dismissed.
We are awaiting follow up comment from various parties concerned.
