We are set to see out spring with a severe heatwave that could push temperatures into the mid to high 30s, and possibly higher, throughout Logan City and the Scenic Rim.
The Bureau of Meteorology said temperatures were expected to be up to 12 degrees above the November average right across our region.
The extreme heat is due to move in early next week and QAS clinical director Tony Hucker said it’s important to keep tabs on vulnerable people, such as the elderly and young children.
He said we should regularly check on our elderly neighbours, make sure that children and pets are not left in hot cars, consider wearing lightweight clothing and stay hydrated.
