Scenic Rim facing blackouts

The wild weather might be behind us but the prospect of flooding continues for parts of the Scenic RIm.

It’s also caused pockets of the region to lose power as power lines come down,  under the weight of tree branches that  have broken off.

Energex crew working on repairs

As at 8am Wednesday,  nearly 200 homes and businesses across the Scenic Rim were without power.

Spokesman Danny Donald says they’re working on it.

“We have a lot of sodden tree root systems and tree branches are waterlogged.

“Now the winds have started we are now seeing these being brought over powerlines”.

Cainbable and Nindooinbah are hardest hit with the most amount of outages.
