Several streets to the north of Logan City have been blocked off, while police negotiate with an armed man.
It’s believed the situation has been unfolding inside a Sunnybank house since mid-morning and that other people are inside.
Police have set up an exclusion zone bounded by Dyson Avenue, Geddes Place, Beenleigh Road and Ganda place.
Acting Inspector Mick Ackery says there’s no threat to public safety, but people are being asked to stay away.
