This could be Logan’s best breakfast

A golf club bistro is not necessarily where you would expect to find incredible food and an award-winning chef but at Meadowbrook Golf Club Bistro that is exactly what is on offer. Set amongst a 27 hole golf course right off the highway at Meadowbrook the bistro has just undergone a serious facelift.

Tom Linskey the owner of Meadowbrook Golf Club has put a significant amount of money into revamping the clubhouse and bistro which now boasts multiple function areas and a wonderful dining area. Outside there is a deck overlooking the practice greens and tenth tee box providing a combination of a wonderful view and some light entertainment as you watch the golfers tee off.

Meadowbrook sources their coffee beans from Melbourne based roastery Coffee Mio. A full-bodied flavour with a great kick, the coffee really hits the mark. I can’t fault anything here.

The breakfast menu at The Meadowbrook Golf Club Bistro has your usual fare along with some exciting extras. I had the added pleasure of speaking with Head Chef Jessica Lord while I was there who let me know that there is a menu change just around the corner.

Chef Jess was 2019’s Queensland Apprentice Chef of The Year, a title that she thoroughly deserves. Jess is a local Logan Village girl.  When she finished her apprenticeship in Brisbane, she jumped at the chance to return to Logan. I took Jess’s recommendation to try the “Hole in One” Breakfast, a Bushrangers mince with toasted sourdough, poached eggs, and smoked paprika hollandaise.

This is the best breakfast I have had in Logan.

It was incredible, a delicate mixture of spices in the beef gave it just enough kick without overpowering the rest of the dish. Eggs cooked perfectly, a good sauce… there is not a lot more you could ask for. The “Hole In One” is one of the most expensive dishes on the breakfast menu, coming in at $20 but I have no issue paying the price for something of this quality.

The team at Meadowbrook subscribe to real small town values when it comes to customer service. Everyone greets you with a smile from the servers and Chef Jess through to Helen who runs the Bistro. It is such a welcoming environment, it’s hard not to find a smile on your face while there. I found all the staff willing to have a chat about the venue and life in general, which for someone like me is a big plus.

If you are getting to this part of the review and are yet to plan a trip out to Meadowbrook Golf Club bistro I really do not understand what you need to hear. It is a sensational venue with incredible food. Go out and give them a try.  I will certainly be back!
