From Logan City politician Shannon Fentiman, member for Waterford, Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Minister for Women, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic and Family Violence:
Happy International Women’s Day.
Here in Queensland we are also celebrating Queensland Women’s Week.
This year especially, we need to do all we can to support women in our community with many disproportionally impacted by COVID.
We have so many hard working, inspiring women in our Waterford community. And now more than ever we need to recognise and celebrate their achievements.
Our small business owners who work tirelessly to do a job they love, our frontline health workers who keep our Logan families safe and healthy, and our teachers and educators who are inspiring the next generation every day.
They all play a crucial role in our Waterford community.
We need to continue to celebrate and empower women and young girls, because together we can achieve anything.
Queensland Women’s Week will be held from March 3 to March 14.
The theme for the week is Celebrating our present. Own our future. Find out more about our theme.
