Reward for return of “Biggie”

  • Scott Mayman is an award-winning radio presenter and journalist who has worked professionally in both Australia and in the United States and is also a Correspondent for CBS News Radio in New York.

A $3,000 reward is now being offered for the prompt return of beloved pooch “Biggie” (click HERE for our earlier story)

It follows claims of a “dognapping” operation in which it’s believed,  the animals are then sold on the black market.

Thieves either sell the animals to unsuspecting pet owners on websites such as Gumtree or sell them on the black market for breeding..

Other concerns have been raised that they may’ve been stolen for illegal dog fighting.

Last week, a Holmview resident took to social media about her own dog that she believes has been stolen.

She believes her bulldog named Biggie (pictured above) has been stolen.

She said Biggie has been spotted at Holmeview, Woodlands drive and Mt Warren Park.

“Biggie has just been spotted with a young girl and boy. They had Biggie wrapped in a grey jumper trying to hide him.

“When a lady called BIGGIE he looked at her…    When her partnered approached the boy,  he went off at him and shoved him. They picked the dog up and ran”.

Biggie is identified as having a light tan ear.

Boy was in  a dark long sleeve hoodie and trackies dark colour shoes with Nike tick and bum bag & she was wearing blue colour jeans with a beige shirt and they wrapped biggie in a greyish hoodie to make him look not noticeable.

As time go on, the owner fears time is running out.

A pet detective has now been recruited to help in the search for the adorable British Bulldog.   The family is also offering a $3,000 financial reward.

They’ve also been door-knocking, but covid restrictions have brought that to a halt.

T-Shirts have also been made with a print of the pooch on the front of the clothing.
