Logan City Council and the state government has been working to bring a brand new PCYC facility to Logan City, which is expected to open in just a couple of months.

Logan City Mayor Darren Power has taken to social media to share the exciting news.

“The new home for the Logan PCYC is getting closer,” Mayor Power said.

“The facility at Cronulla Park in Slacks Creek is really taking shape, with most of the external building complete and work started on the internal fit-out and landscaping.

“The new $14 million PCYC facility is jointly funded by the Queensland Government and Logan City Council and is supporting more than 46 full time jobs.

“The 4700 square metre building features a rhythmic and artistic gymnastics hall, gym and boxing facilities, multi-purpose rooms for youth programs and activities and an administration area.

“This is a fantastic initiative for our community, especially our youth. We have worked closely with the PCYC to design a building that delivers their programs and supports the young people of Logan.

“Keeping fit and active is so important in bringing the community together, and ensuring both mental and physical health.”

The new PCYC facility is expected to be complete in early June, subject to weather.
