A celebration of Logan writers starts Friday!

The Logan Writers Festival starting Friday (10th September)  is your opportunity to get to know your local literary legends.

Stories are one of the most ancient forms of entertainment. Even in modern times where screens hold our attention, the simplicity of a good book cannot be understated. There are still names we all know, Stephen King, Roald Dahl, Mark Twain, or my personal favourite author Nick Hornby. However, do you know the author next door?

The Logan Writers Festival is a showcase of our best local writers. It starts Friday and will run across two days. There is a slew of incredible speakers and presentations set over two separate stages. With topics ranging from self-publishing to writing for retirement income.  The festival 2 day ticket gives you the chance to chat to your local authors, learn about writing, get behind the scenes information and join others in the local reading community.

You’ll also hear from a range of local authors including Emily Cooney on how to use Trello to develop your plot, Cynthia Terelst on the importance of opening chapters, Stacy King and many more. You can get the two day program here.

Founder of the Logan Writers Festival Rhiannon D. Elton says the purpose of the festival was to “make the starving artist a myth in Logan”

The festival is set to take place at the brand new Logan Artists Association.  Logan Artists Association (LAA) is a Not for Profit organisation established in the 1980’s and is run by volunteers in Coral Street Loganlea, just a 5 minute walk from Loganlea train station.

The festival is open to the public and to all writers.  You can get more information and tickets now at loganwritersfestival.com.au
