Logan foodies came together on Wednesday night this week at Extraction Artisan Coffee in Slacks Creek to promote growers, primary producers and Logan cafes and restaurants to brainstorm ways to promote this emerging industry to the wider Logan community.
The event was the brainchild of Home Base, a Griffith University program and the Logan City Council. The idea, to bring local food businesses together and network everyone from coffee shops and restaurants to growers and primary producers was attended by over 50 people involved in the industry.
Guests included Attorney General Shannon Fentiman, Mayor Darren Power, Councillor for Division 3 Mindy Russell, Councillor for Division 11 Natalie Wilcox and Councillor for Division 10 Miriam Stemp.
On the night, guests got to see a range of wares, showcased by local businesses and then in groups the opportunity to discuss how best to tell the story of Logan Food and come up with ideas on how food businesses in Logan can get their message out to the wider community.
