Donations have flooded in from local Logan businesses in the lead up to Logan House Fire Support Network’s annual Logan Emergency Services Christmas Day Santa Run.

The not-for-profit organisation specialises in helping families who have been through a house fire and aim to provide care packs and support for the families immediately, including emergency accommodation, finding permanent accommodation, re-furnishing and getting the family back on their feet.
The local organisation shared the good news about the donations for the Santa Run via their socials.
“Thanks to our good friends at Logan Funerals for their generosity towards the 2021 Logan Emergency Services Santa Run, Angela and Bruce dropped of all of these goodies to help with the day. We thank you for your support,” the post read.“Thanks to Liza and Scott from HYTEK Steel Framing Textor Metal Industries and G.J. Gardner Homes Australia for their continued support for the 2021 Logan Emergency Services Santa Run. As we always say, support the businesses that support us,” another donation post says.

Louie Naumovski, founder of Logan House Fire Support Network, says the Santa Run only started a few years ago but the community has really supported the day.
“Business across Logan have been fantastic giving us lollies and presents to hand out, and we’re back again for our third event and we’re going to continue this as an annual event,” he says.“We started off in 2019, just prior to everything that was happening with COVID. It started off small, going around the streets of Logan on Christmas morning with emergency services vehicles in tow throwing lollies out to all the children.“The end result was that we ended up at the Logan Children’s Hospital handing out gifts to those children that are unfortunately ill and spending the night and day in hospital on Christmas.“The day really brings a bit of cheer and joy to the local community. Last year when COVID had hit, we did it again under strict COVID rules and we were under police escort, with QLD police, SES firies, and ambulance there too, and this year will be the third year, and it’s just got bigger and bigger.”
On Christmas morning, the Santa Run will be departing from Woodridge Fire Station at 9am, and anywhere between 20 to 30 emergency vehicles on the day.
