COVID-19 infections in Logan and the Scenic Rim rise again

COVID-19 infections have risen again in Logan and the Scenic Rim in the last 24 hours.

According to Queensland Health 13,057 people now have the virus in the city – a jump of 802 infections overnight.12,945 are under investigation.

Cases of the virus have also gone up in the Scenic Rim by another 52.

In that Local Government area 583 people are infected and 572 others are a mystery.

It’s the deadliest day of the pandemic so far with seven more COVID-19 deaths.

All seven deaths were elderly people without their booster shots – two people in their 80s and five in their 90s.

Two of those people were unvaccinated.

The state’s chief health Officer Dr John Gerard says unvaccinated Queenslanders are 24 times more likely to end up in intensive care than those who are triple vaxxed.
