The COVID-19 outbreak at Bethania aged care facility Jeta Gardens has ended, as visitors return to see loved ones.
The most recent round of PCR screening of residents on Friday February 18, confirmed no new and active cases at the aged care facility.
COVID-19 numbers have reduced to zero on-site at the aged care facility.
The Public Health Unit has approved Jeta Gardens to again open to visitors and lifestyle group activities, including the re-opening of the Jade Café and Clubhouse Restaurant to resume full operations.
The aged care facility has now put measures in place to prevent further COVID-19 deaths.
PCR testing remains in place along with required infection control procedures such as RAT testing of staff and visitors.
A Jeta Gardens Spokeswoman says the aged facility will now focus on moving forward.
“It has been a challenging time for the Jeta Gardens community, all of whom are so happy that the outbreak has ended.
“We will continue daily Commission meetings to ensure ongoing remediation to return Jeta Gardens to full compliance.”
The Spokeswoman says staff at the facility are very thankful for the support provided by the various government agencies and specialists.
“We remain committed to delivering the best care for the Jeta Gardens community and are confident in our push towards success.
“There has been a momentous effort by all involved, our staff, our specialist advisors including the nurse advisor team from Health Generation and Gerontologist Dr Drew Dwyer to ensure Jeta Gardens is able to come through this.
“The Jeta Gardens community has experienced and learned a lot to date, and we remain committed to delivering the best care for the Jeta Gardens community and are confident in our push towards success.
