The ALP says the Scenic Rim Regional Council is one of many that have benefited from a partnership with the Palaszczuk government in 2020.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said if her party is re-elected, it will support up to 17,800 jobs across Queensland and an SEQ Stimulus package, plus $280 million for the Transport Infrastructure Development scheme.

“I know that Councils across Queensland have welcomed every single Works for Queensland round in the past,” she said.

That included $1.7 million for Scenic Rim Regional Council in this year’s $200 million COVID Works for Queensland program.

“As a government we have always backed local governments like we have through the global COVID-19 pandemic and natural disasters like fires, floods, or cyclones,” the Premier said.

“We have stood shoulder to shoulder with our local governments to create jobs right across the state and we’re not going to stop now.”
