Accused murderer remains in jail after his case went to court

An unlicensed driver charged with the hit-and-run murder of a 25-year-old pedestrian in Logan City remains behind bars after his case went before the Beenleigh Magistrates court on Monday.

The pedestrian was allegedly hit by a white Audi wagon and killed about 3pm last Friday in Browns Plains.

25-year-old local man,Troy Edward Vandenberg, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police allege the Audi left the scene before officers arrived and believe a “rolling road rage” incident involving another car preceded the collision.

20 year old Umar Hussein Alk ha lifa Al Enizi, from Marsden was arrested on Saturday and charged with murder.

Al Enizi didn’t appear in court and was unable to apply for bail before being remanded in custody for mention on the 10th of November.
