AWLQ’s Pet of the Week | Meet American Staffy Millie

Animal Welfare League Queensland’s Beenleigh Animal Rehoming Centre is all about matchmaking, which is why the team at AWLQ are sharing with Logan locals their Pet of the Week, in hopes of finding the perfect human match for their furry friends.

The organisation’s work is more than just providing a safe haven for close to 10,000 stray and homeless animals every year, but about maintaining a promise to save more lives and creating a brighter future for animals in need.

Melinda Phipps, AWLQ State Rehoming Manager says this is achieved by not turning away animals who are suffering and not euthanising animals because they are old or require treatment.

“AWLQ’s Beenleigh Animal Rehoming Centre saves more lives because of our promise – to never euthanise a healthy, sociable or treatable animal in our care. In addition, we are committed to keeping pets and families together by providing lifesaving support so animals are never unnecessarily euthanised or surrendered.

“We are dedicated to serving the animals of our community and with the community by our side, we can continue to go the extra mile and help animals in need.”

Without further ado meet:

I’m Millie and I am looking for a family who will truly love me and care for me.
I’ve never been inside but it looks like an amazing place to be, I would love to cuddle up with someone on a couch.
I also dream of being included in all the fun daily adventures with you especially to the beach. If you have a place in your heart for a girl like me, please come meet me today.

For more information please visit or you can meet Millie at AWLQ’s Beenleigh Animal Rehoming Centre which is at 16 Rossmanns Road in Stapylton.
