All that wild weather we’ve had in Logan City and Scenic Rim for the past few days is set to ease up Thursday, but it will only be a brief respite.
Storms continued into Wednesday night with more power outages, flash flooding in some areas and 100,000 lightning strikes.
More than a thousand homes across the Scenic Rim lost power during Wednesday’s storm activity.
It took nearly three hours before Energex could restore power to Flagstone, Jimboomba, Riverbend, Stockleigh, Tamborine and Tamborine Mountain.
However, Energex says its network stood up well on Wednesday night because winds weren’t as bad as they were on Tuesday.
The Bureau of Meteorology has warned that we’ll need to batten down the hatches again on Saturday.
Meteorologists say a cell due to make its way through the Scenic Rim and Logan City on Saturday will likely be destructive.
