An accident at Slacks Creek early Monday morning cut power to the surrounding suburbs for an hour or so.

A man was injured when his car ran into a power pole on Paradise Rd around 5am.

He was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital and by around 6am power had been restored.

Around 1,500 homes, mostly in Slacks Creek and Logan Central, were without electricity as a result of the crash.

Energex crews have been in the area restoring power.
