After a hot day yesterday,  Logan City and the Scenic Rim are in for a reprieve.

A mini-heatwave is expected to be replaced today by cooler temperatures and more rain

In some areas,  the rain has already moved in with an overnight storm hitting the region, creating a spectacular light show.

Forecaster Shane Kennedy has said the local region is going through a unique weather event.

“We’re expecting the next cool trough to move through, so you should see a bit of a south easterly cooler change pushing through. It will start to have a bit of influence on Tuesday but its really only Wednesday when things should cool down.
