Eagleby dirt bike rider dies after crash

A 31-year-old motorbike rider from Eagleby has died, after his dirt bike collided with a car yesterday afternoon.

Early investigations suggest that at approximately 5.20pm, a dirt bike has crashed into a stationary vehicle at the intersection of River Hills Road and Bishop Street.

The impact then sent the dirt bike into a second stationary vehicle in a nearby driveway.

Raymond Mogg, was treated by paramedics, however died at the scene.

Mr Mogg’s mum Desleigh says her son died doing what he loved.

“Raymond was a loving and attentive family man, who would give anyone the shirt off his back and help all those in need especially his family he cared for deeply.

 

“We are distraught by what has happened and are going to miss him dearly.

 

“It’s hard to put my grief into words, there are so many ways to describe Raymond but hard to put together.

 

“His beautiful cheeky smile will live on within all us and his smart remarks haha Raymond was a family man and went out doing what he loved best and that was riding bikes.

 

“Our son, brother, uncle, cousin and nephew will be dearly missed.

 

“He is now flying high with his dad.”

Following his loss, Mr Mogg’s family has set up a memorial fundraiser.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage in the area at the time is asked to contact police.
