Next week’s Ekka public holiday has officially been cancelled.
For Logan City – next Wednesday August 11 was scheduled to be “Peoples Day”.
And for the Scenic Rim, it was set down for next Monday August 9.
Reaction from Scenic Rim Council is expected later today.
Deputy Premier Steven Miles says the holiday will be moved to a Friday to create a long weekend.
But he says final details are yet to be confirmed:
Earlier, My News Feed reported that the Government had originally hoped to announce a new date this afternoon but such an announcement has been delayed.
