Federal Treasurer and Rankin MP Jim Chalmers has given the corporate watchdog the maximum power to monitor energy companies as inflation continues to eat into household budgets.
The A-Triple-C has been handed the job of reporting to the Government any attempts by those corporations to increase their prices without justification.
Dr Chalmers says he won’t tolerate any suspect practices by electricity and gas suppliers.
