Flooding impacts local businesses

Businesses across Logan City and the Scenic Rim have been impacted by flooding caused by the recent severe rainfall event.

On Monday, Beenleigh Marketplace, Jimboomba Woolworths, Coles, Bakery and Butcher were reported as being closed, while shops such as Coles Yarrabilba, Woolworths Logan Village, Logan Village Family Bakery reduced their trading hours.

Beenleigh Marketplace closed on Monday, due to significant flooding in the car park and the rate of the water rising within the area.

A Beenleigh Marketplace Spokesperson says they are closely monitoring the situation to ensure the safety of our community and they will continue to follow the advice from local authorities.

Meadowbrook Golf Club on Slacks Creek has also been heavily affected by the flooding.

McDonald’s at Beaudesert and Eagleby were only able to offer a limited menu, due to stock issues caused by the flood.

If it is safe to do so, residents who need to go shopping, are encouraged to ring ahead and ask if the shop is open.
