Logan Police Dog (PD) Alex has finished his last day on the beat, as Logan District Police farewelled him on Friday.
PD Alex was born in 2013 and was acquired by the QPS from a breeder in Victoria.
PD Alex commenced full time training at the beginning of 2015 with Senior Constable Michael Silman and by mid-year the team were a fully accredited general purpose dog team.
PD Alex and Senior Constable Silman spent the next three and a half years based in Mt Isa performing operational duties.
In early 2019, PD Alex and Senior Constable Silman transferred to the Logan District Dog Squad where they dedicated themselves to serving the local community.
PD Alex was formally retired from operational duty recently at 8.5 years of age to the home of Senior Constable Silman and his family, with many well-earned years of rest and recreation ahead.
PD Alex was retired in excellent health and we are led to believe spoilt rotten by his family.
