Meadowbrook Golf Club is the venue for this year’s Logan Chamber of Commerce annual Charity Golf Day on Friday (September 3).
Each year, the event attracts business owners, politicians, and community leaders from across the city to combine fundraising with a great golfing and networking day. This year, proceeds from the day go to Bridging the Digital Divide; supplying recycled computers for Logan families through Substation 33.
The weather is looking pretty good on Friday and with spring in the air, nothing beats a great day out on the golf course!
If you or your business would like to play, either sign up or get together with others and make up a team of four. There’s still spots open for teams of four and individuals to sign up to be part of the day.
With the opening of the Meadowbrook Golf Club mini-golf course recently, there will also be a mini-golf tournament.
Logan City Chamber President Stewart Fleming says “Last year, even with Covid lockdowns, we managed to raise $10,000 which allowed 100 families access to a computer for homeschooling as necessary, but more is needed. When the lock down first happened, it was estimated that 80% of families in Logan did not have a computer at home.”
With homeschooling such a prevalent part of the last 2 years it is more important than ever to ensure families have access to a working computer.”
