A 19 year old man from Goondiwindi is due to appear in the Boggabilla Local court in August after a police pursuit across the Queensland – New South Wales border.
Officers from the New England Police District were on-patrol last Thursday night when they noticed an allegedly stolen Ford Laser from Queensland.
It’s alleged, the driver failed to stop for officers and a high speed pursuit began north along the Newell Highway.
Then, in a rural area outside Boggabilla, a passenger managed to get out of the vehicle and fled the scene.
The vehicle then crossed back into Queensland where police used tyre spikes to stop the car on the Leichhardt Highway.
The 19 year old Goondiwindi man was taken to the Toowoomba Watch House and charged with a variety of driving offences. It was also discovered, the man was disqualified from holding a licence until 2023.
No word on the identify or fate of the passenger in the vehicle.
