It’s been revealed, about 15,000 homes and businesses across Logan City and the Scenic Rim lost power during yesterday’s massive blackout across Queensland.
It’s being described as the worst outage since the infamous 1985 power worker strike.
The member for Springwood MICK DeBrenni – who’s also the state’s Energy Minister – used the floor of Parliament yesterday to raise the incident….
“At 1:44pm, there was a fire in the Callide C power station affecting units three and four.
“All workers were evacuated and I’m advised there are no injuries”
In total, more than 370-thousand homes and business across South-East Queensland.
Logan City locals from Springwood, Logan Central, Beenleigh, and more reported power outages on local Facebook community groups.
The Australian Energy Market Operator has this-morning confirmed, it’s no longer concerned about a lack of reserves.
Energy bosses will be on the ground today to assess the damage at the station and investigate how the fire occurred.
