QLD Education minister Grace Grace

Education Minister Grace Grace says it’s absolutely imperative that all school communities in lockdown zones strictly follow the directives of the Chief Health Officer.

“As you have heard, the Government and Chief Health Officer moved quickly to put in place restrictions to ensure our safety and well-being”.

Ms Grace said most schools had been audited about their ability to conduct remote learning.

“Like last year, no student will be disadvantaged”.

Only children of essential services should attend school this week.

Indooroopilly State High School and Ironside State School remain closed for 14 days following confirmation of positive COVID-19 cases in both school communities.

Ms Grace says the 14 day closure for Ironside SS commences immediately, with the school scheduled to re-open on Friday 13 August.  Indooroopilly SHS is closed until Thursday 12 August.

Both schools have undergone deep cleaning.
