Hoon Crackdown Continues

  • Rod Stephen is a former television journalist and has worked as Foreign Editor for the Seven Network, Australian Bureau Chief for TV3 New Zealand, UK correspondent for Seven and ABC radio and as a producer for Reuters TV in London as well as SBS in Sydney and Melbourne before returning to Brisbane to work at 4BC.

Logan police are continuing their crackdown on alcohol and drug affected drivers following the success of the Christmas and New Year blitz.

Pop up RBT sites were used all over the Logan area during that period to target traffic offenders in the right locations at the right times.

Parties, licensed premise car parks, bottle shops and local ‘rat runs’ through the suburbs were specifically targeted leading up to Christmas.

Those operations also enabled police to target hoons gathering or travelling in groups.

Logan police have also partnered with Department of Main Roads and Transport compliance officers to remove defective vehicles from the city’s roads.
