Local and Scenic Rim locals are being invited to connect with nature and their local community for National Tree Day this Sunday

Residents across Logan and the Scenic Rim are being invited to connect with nature and their local community for National Tree Day this Sunday (31 July).
It comes as a recent survey shows 8 in 10 people agree that planting trees is an important part of creating a more sustainable future.A similar amount of respondents (81 percent) also agreed that spending time in nature is good for our physical and psychological wellbeing.

Rebecca Gilling from Planet Ark says National Tree Day is a great opportunity for locals to join together and do something positive for our environment.

Meanwhile, Logan City Council is inviting locals to roll up their sleeves and help plant 2000 native trees on Sunday, July 31.The free event, conducted in association with Planet Ark, is from 8am-10am.
