Logan Basketball announces the return of North Championship Winner Chevannah Paalvast

Logan Basketball has just announced the return of 2021 National Basketball League (NBL1) North Championship Winner Chevannah Paalvast.

Chevannah, who has re-signed with the Bendigo Bank Logan Thunder Women for the 2022 NBL1 North Season, returns following a successful 2021 campaign averaging 9.7 points per game , 4.7 rebounds per game and 2.2 assists per game in 2021, while leading the Logan Thunder Women to the inaugural North Championship.

Chevannah will play her third straight season for the Logan Thunder Women and brings a wealth of WNBL experience having previously played for the Bendigo Spirit, Canberra Capitals and Townsville Fire.

Chev Is also an active member of the New Zealand Tall Ferns squad and recently competed in the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers following the NBL1 North Season.

“I am most excited about the chance to defend our title and being around the culture at Logan Basketball,” Chevannah says.

“We need to make sure we are always progressing and improving. Making sure no one is complacent because of last year and instead pushing to be even better.”

“Obviously both massive losses (Mik Cann and Cassie Smith) as they both play key roles within our team. Cassie as our experience and rebounder and Mik her leadership and ability to create. But we have a lot of young girls that I’m sure will step up to the challenge of filling their shoes.”

Chevannah Paalvast joins Mikaela Ruef as the 2nd player announced for the 2022 Bendigo Bank Logan Thunder Women’s roster.
