Logan City COVID-19 Lockdown ends at midday today

  • Rod Stephen is a former television journalist and has worked as Foreign Editor for the Seven Network, Australian Bureau Chief for TV3 New Zealand, UK correspondent for Seven and ABC radio and as a producer for Reuters TV in London as well as SBS in Sydney and Melbourne before returning to Brisbane to work at 4BC.

The lockdown of Logan City and the rest of Greater Brisbane will end at midday today even though 10 new cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in the past 24 hours.

Nine of those cases were  detected in hotel quarantine. The other was locally acquired and linked to a known cluster.

There were three new cases in Queensland yesterday, two of them the result of community transmission, and linked to a cluster tied to a Princess Alexandra Hospital nurse.

Queensland Premier Anastacia  Palaszczuk said yesterday high testing rates, low case numbers, and the fact that community transfer was linked to existing cases, was positive sign for Easter.
