The Springwood and Rochedale South Police Beats are teaming up this week as part of Operation “Own It”.
According to senior constable Rob Whitehead “The focus of the operation is road trauma reduction through enforcement and education of the Fatal Five as well as engagement”.
He says the team recently put the spotlight on road safety, conducting speed enforcement at the arterial roads and school zones throughout Springwood and Rochedale South.
Police note that the speed limits were generally being observed, but were disappointed to see so many drivers using their mobile phones while driving.
Police would like to remind the public to take care on the roads and to drive to the conditions in this upcoming storm season.
