Logan City’s Hyperdome Shopping Centre has once again teamed up with a well known charity to help spread Easter cheer with some free sweet treats, to those who may not have gotten to enjoy the luxuries that come along with an Aussie Easter long weekend.

Founded by locals Manuela and Darrell Whitford, Friends with Dignity is a volunteer-based not-for-profit organisation that raises awareness of domestic violence and implements practical programs to assist survivors and rebuild their lives with purpose, dignity and hope.

40 packs of (6) Hot cross buns were picked up from Liz at Baker’s Delight, who freshly prepared these for Friends With Dignity to distribute to the services in Brisbane and Gold Coast.

Armed with bags of freshly baked hot cross buns courtesy of Hyperdome’s Bakers Delight, Friends with Dignity visited the local crisis centres they work with on Tuesday 6th April to make a special delivery to the families and volunteers.

“Many of the local families we support through Friends with Dignity are homeless and facing great uncertainty and anxiety, having fled domestic violence situations with no where to turn,” said a Friends with Dignity spokesperson.

“We are looking forward to visiting some of our local community members who are doing it particularly tough and taking a moment to enjoy a little Easter treat.”
