Logan City student Sharon Loane tragically passed away last Sunday (April 4), after a long battle with cancer.
According to Yarrabilba Secondary College (where she was a student) Sharon passed at her Yarrabilba home, surrounded by her family after battling cancer since 2019.
“Our condolences to Sharon’s family, friends and teachers,” a school representative posted on social media.
“Our College community will remember Sharon and celebrate her life when we return to school in Term 2.”
Prior to attending Yarrabilba Secondary College, Sharon attended Marsden State High School.
“Our thoughts are with Sharon’s family at this difficult time,” Marsden High principal Andrew Peach said.
“Sharon was part of our Girls Rugby League Excellence program and a student that lived our core Marsden values of pride, passion and persistence.
“She was a tremendous young person who demonstrated such great determination, and our Marsden community has been fortunate to have known her.
“As a school community we will celebrate Sharon’s life in Term 2, with support available for any students when we return on April 19.
“Our sincere condolences to Sharon’s family, friends and teachers.”
