Logan District Police fed up with dangerous high speed drivers

Logan police are at their wits end after catching up with a driver and his passenger travelling at more than 200 kilometres an hour in an eighty zone on the Mount Lindesay Highway last Saturday night.

The police helicopter tracked the vehicle until it stopped at roadworks in Munruben around 9.30pm when officers from the Jimboomba and Logan Highway Patrol arrested the man and the woman.

The 18-year-old driver, a Maudsland man, was fined $1,286, a six-month license suspension and eight demerit points for high end speeding.

His 18-year-old passenger, a Crestmead woman, was fined $551 for placing  traffic bollards across the middle of the Southbound lanes, creating a major traffic hazard.

Twelve lives have been lost on Queensland roads since the start of the month.
